Wirral Council for Voluntary Service exists
to support, develop and promote Wirral's not-for-profit sector helping it to identify
and respond effectively to current and emerging challenges
We do this by delivering a number of core activities
in line with the guidelines of the National Association of Council for Voluntary
Service (NACVS), the national forum for England.
Wirral CVS:
- Provides support services
- Identifies
new needs and develops initiatives to meet them
- Promotes
partnership between statutory and voluntary and community sectors in the delivery
of welfare and other services
- Supports innovation,
accountability and good practice in local services
- Encourages
local groups and organisations to put forward their views on local policies and
decisions that affect them
- Creates and promotes forums
and channels used by Government and other bodies to consult the community
- Works with individuals, groups and communities in a flexible,
open way and challenges inequality
We
strive to work with all individuals, groups and communities - our customers- in
a flexible, open and equal way and with good humour.
We recognise
the skills and potential of those we work with and for and value their ideas and
contributions.
We do what we can to ensure that our services
and resources are available to everyone who needs them.
We
give thought to where, when and how we meet the needs of Wirral's not-for-profit
sector and the way we communicate with our customers.
At
all times we try to work without discrimination or prejudice.
